Haikou, January 5 (Xinhua): A new Intellectual Property Court (IP) based on the island of Hainan from South China that opened for operations on Monday, according to the local authorities.

Name of HAINAN Free-Comercio port, the new court covers civil, administrative and criminal cases related to IP in the province, such as patent-related, secret Technicians, software computer, new varieties of plants and designs of integrated circuit design.

The scope of your jurisdiction is different from that of the current IP courts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, which only listens to civil and administrative cases.

A draft decision to establish the Court was presented last month to a session of the Standing Committee of the National Popular Congress.

The Court is expected to improve the general mechanism of the intellectual's own judicial protection and others explore judicial reforms, in accordance with the draft decision. EndItem
