Beijing, April 7 (Xinhua): China remote detection satellite ground station has formally acquired the ability to receive, process and distribute the data product transmitted from the satellite Landsat-9, according to the Institute of Aerospace Information Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. P>
The station has received data from Landsat-5 since 1986. It also provides Landsat-7 and Landsat -8 observation data for users. P>
There are five branch stations: four in China and one in the Arctic. The stations in Beijing, Xinjiang and Hainan have completed the international certification of the Landsat-9 satellite terrain, the Institute said. P>
The Landsat-9 satellite was launched last September and started operating in January of this year. P>
