HAIKOU - The southern Chinese province of Hainan plans to build a submarine cable from the province to the countries of Southeast Asia, officials said at a press conference on Friday.
Meanwhile, Hainan is currently constructing a submarine optical cable that connects Hong Kong, which will be completed next year, according to the Administration of Communications Hainan.
Hainan is promoting the construction of a regional office for the increase in international communications services, primarily for the countries of the belt and the road in the provincial capital of Haikou, said Chen Xingwu, deputy director of the administration .
Chen added that the administration intends to conduct a private line service international data, which will improve international communications services Hainan.
